M. D. Anderson Cancer Center is one of the world’s most respected centers devoted exclusively to cancer patient care, research, education and prevention. In2008, more than 79,000 people with cancer received care at M. D. Anderson. M. D. Anderson also employs more than 18,000 people, including nearly 1,400 faculty, and a volunteer corps of more than 1,600 people.

Recently M. D. Anderson Cancer center launched it's first institutional blog. The Cancerwise blog will serve as online resource for cancer patients, caregivers, students and professionals. It was created to offer current expert commentary from bloggers within the institution on treatment, prevention, research and other pertinent topics. The blog allows readers to react through comments and allows M. D. Anderson the opportunity to listen to and connect directly with the public.
