Greetings everybody,
Billy Bicket your organizer here with a quick word about next Tuesday's event format.

In an attempt to lift-off from the fantastic energy and feedback of last month's event , this month's Net Tuesday will provide a forum for Social Innovators, Investors and Technologists interested in contributing to the direction of future engagements. Be sure to read the agenda below and be prepared to participate.

Stay tuned for a venue update, as we're still identifying a meeting space appropriate for planning and work-shopping ideas!

Goals of the meeting:

1. Cultivate ideas for designing an environment to help accelerate the development and lift-off of Pro-Social Projects.
(Pro-Social = Projects focused on social-benefit.)

The format:

6pm: Open networking (30 minutes)

1. Introductions (20 minutes)

2. Self-organizing based on experience/expertise (5 minutes)

3. What’s broken with the way we design, develop and launch our Projects? (15 minutes)

4. Group Presos. Volunteer reports findings back to the group. (20 minutes)

5. Summary: Net Tuesday Austin. Designing an environment for community-based innovation (5 minutes)
-- What happens if we’re wildly successful in designing an environment for Pro-Social Projects
-- What’s unique about our particular environment here in Austin as it relates to our focus?

6. Defining Net Tuesday Community Roles (10 minutes)

7. Easy Next Steps (5 minutes)

Planning Guidelines:

1. Inclusivity.
We’re committed to making sure we approach opportunities in an inclusive way.
A simple rule of thumb to help maintain this value throughout the event is to ensure your ideas and contributions allow for a broad range of community participation across both the private and public sector, and aren’t limited to any single constituency.

2. Impactful.
Does your suggestion/ideas create real social impact?

3. Accomplishable.
Are your suggestions accomplishable based on the current local resources, and our existing collective capacity?

4. Teachable.
Does your suggestion allow us to ‘teach’ as we go?

5. Scaleable.
Everything doesn't need to scale, but it's important to think about scaleability as we brainstorm, as the ultimate goal here is to develop a model that can be distributed to cities beyond Austin.
