We've seen some recent technology outreach initiatives to Mexico, where nonprofits and technology are accomplishing a great deal with very little. We know of some Phoenix nonprofits that could also use some tech advice, and if you are one of these, NetSquared can help!

Phoenix NetSquared is taking July off for a summer break. The normal meeting date is the third Tuesday of the month - so, August 18 is the next meeting. In June we videoconferenced with a member of a nonprofit (Floaters) in Mexico, and heard a report on the annual NetSquared conference in San Jose. Come in August and bring your ideas! We'd like more nonprofits in need of tech, and tech people looking for a nonprofit to share their expertise with. We'd like to plan for next year's NetSquared, and figure out what models in other cities would be fun & useful for Phoenix.

Reminder: Phoenix NetSquared Net Tuesdays take place on the third Tuesday of each month. This month you'll be inspired by the N2Y4 conference report, with good ideas for the coming year for those of us who seek to bring together nonprofits and technology. The view from SkySong is a plus. Also, pizza.

Location: SkySong, Room 301, 1475 N Scottsdale (where the old Los Arcos mall used to be.) Tech people: you may already be helping out at a couple of nonprofits. Wouldn't it be fun to have a team "pimp your nonprofit?" If you aren't already helping out, what are you waiting for? Nonprofit representatives: join us for pizza, get to know the group, and you'll have advice from people who love technology and love to share. Everyone: let me know what you'd like me to bring back from the netsquared conference at the end of the month. Perhaps you'll even want to attend it yourself.

NOTE: Time & Location Change! This is a daytime meeting! For this meeting, Justin Kiggins will be giving an overview of how COAR pulled together a diverse set of tolls to bring an additional level of interactivity to a photographic exhibition. We'll also continue our discussion regarding the future of Phoenix Netsquared Meetup. All are welcome!! FUSE is a portrait exhibit of the complex worlds of resettled refugees in the Phoenix metro area. It fosters critical thinking on who refugees are and how, through sharing experiences, the Phoenix metro community can seek common ground. The photographs validate the struggles and triumphs of these families, portraying them in a way that cultivates a deeper sense of belonging in the community. The exhibition was developed in collaboration with the Arizona State University Museum of Anthropology and local artist Eliza Gregory, a member of the eye lounge artist cooperative on Roosevelt Row. The exhibit features "audio portraits" in addition to traditional photographic portraits. COAR used Drupal to generate the podcasts and Podlinez to allow audience participants to access the portraits via phone. Further, audience members can provide their own feedback on the exhibit via text message. These responses are brought together in a Twitter feed, and displayed on the FUSE website (www.coarweb.org/fus e) and on a wall of the exhibit.
